Sehwag's hair raising story!

India's dashing opener Virender Sehwag is as hair raising on the field as he is off it (pun unintended). And as he joins the elite club of Harsha Bhogle, Salman Khan, Ravi Shastri and Shane Warne, all of whom have got new crowning glory, Sehwag explains just why he got the hair transplant done.

"Accha dikhoge toh zyada biko-ge," says Sehwag endorsing hair transplants with a classic one liner. (You sell good when you look good)

A matter of simple economics then! And trust the Nawab of Najafgarh to be as brutal with his words as he is with his batting!

"In India we do not have a culture of staying bald. The advertisements do not go to bald people. So everyone wants to have hair. Everyone wants to shampoo and style his hair. I am one of them."

So, bring back the hair oil, bring back the comb! But its not just the sponsors, Viru has now become very popular within his team, with many enquiring as to where they can get more of the same!

"My teammates were surprised when they got to know that I did a surgery and my hair's coming back. Everyone started asking me is it false or real, tell me."

"People asked whether I got it done from Dubai or US but when they got to know it is happening in New Delhi they were very happy," he added.

And for those of you who really want to know, each session typically costs Rs 80,000, but Viru got his for free in return for the endorsement.

So while there may still be jokes around hair weaving lotions and creams, the truth is that Sehwag's very bold and brave to come out about it in public whereas many celebrities conceal it.
