India, Pak evenly matched: Lawson

Pakistan kick off their tour on Friday with a warm-up game against Delhi at the Firoz Shah Kotla stadium.

Coach Geoff Lawson, who took charge of the Pakistani team in July, says he is looking forward to the series.

"It's always a very important series. It promises to be an exciting series and I think both teams are evenly matched," said Lawson.

On the T20 final, in which the Men in Blue beat the Pakistani team in a nail biting thriller, Lawson admitted the need for consistency in their performance.

"The more we play, the better the contest. T20 games have added to the intensity. We need to be consistent for a year," he added.

And all eyes will be on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, one player who can spell trouble with a capital T for not just the opposition, but also his own team, as events over the last 12 months have shown.

However, Lawson has made the Rawalpindi Express promise that he is going to be very quiet on the tour and concentrate only on the cricket.
