Yuvraj strikes the ball left, right, centre…!

Never rub a Punjab da Puttar the wrong way! Perhaps the Englishmen didn't remember this before their match. Andrew Flintoff instigated Yuvraj Singh and it was Stuart Broad who paid the price.

Electing to bat first, Indian openers Gambhir and Sehwag added 136 runs for the first wicket before Darren Maddy broke the partnership with Sehwag's wicket. Uthappa fell soon. Yuvraj joined Dhoni and nobody knew what was in store. Freddie uttered some magical words and Yuvraj returned the favours with Pure Magic. Stuart Broad was supposed to bowl the next over. Six deliveries flew to different parts of the ground. Five of the six skiers were perfect cricketing shots.

The first one sailed over the midwicket. The second was struck behind the square. The third one was lofted over the extra-cover. The fourth six looked more like a mishit off a full toss. But the fifth and sixth sixes were pure elegance. Bending on his knee Yuvraj smacked the ball across the midwicket boundary and the last one was launched over the mid-on fence.

He lasted just 16 deliveries for his hurricane knock of 58 runs to take the total to 218. Dhoni stood like a spellbound spectator at the non-striker's end.

England started the chase but fell short by 18 runs. With this loss, England were out of the tournament.
