The International Cricket Council has pledged support to Pakistan cricket which is facing international isolation in the wake of security concerns.

ICC President David Morgan and Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat on Tuesday met with PCB officials, led by chairman Ejaz Butt, as part of their ongoing process of information sharing with Members.

"It (meeting) gave us the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the ICC and its Members to the cause of Pakistan cricket at a time when it is facing some immense difficulties that are beyond its control.

"Pakistan has done so many good things for international cricket, producing some of the greatest players and teams the world has ever seen, and we must do all we can to ensure it can continue to do that in the years ahead," Morgan said in a statement.

"I am pleased that, during the recent ICC Board meeting, our Members confirmed their commitment to honour fixtures against Pakistan under the Future Tours Programme," Morgan added.

ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said, "It was a useful and informative meeting. We realise that Pakistan is faced with unique challenges and we will do everything possible to ensure it continues to play international cricket."
