Just like football has player and team ratings on not just goals and victories but on the goals assisted, victories assisted, goals defended, goals missed and so on and so forth. It speaks on volumes on how a footballer is. A Cricketer is not subjected to that kind of humiliation there's only strike rate, catches and wickets to talk about. Similar is the daily points in ODI, a perfect waste of time. A series victory is no way to rate a team. In fact unless each is analyzed and given a different score it's no use at all. I think there's scope for a rating system like that. Every Cricketer should have a rating based on the runs scored under a particular circumstance. Like for example it should be different for Sachin opening and scoring 48 and Ravindra Jadeja scoring 48 at the seventh wicket. The catches dropped, defeats caused by poor individual run rate, the extra's given should all appear. It would then make more sense. It would humble the likes of Sachin, who have a 'Holier than thou' attitude.
