Ready for some Bhajji-Aussie tadhka?

A+   A-

By now we know, Australian team and Punjab da puttar Harbhajan Singh have a unique so-called liking towards each other and we surely understand what are those everlasting smiles for. After all, the soaring mental pressure needs to be hidden in a politically correct way, isn’t it? The headlines generated by them usually occupy major portion of the prime news across the world, inevitably that is. So, are we heading for some more of those?

Who doesn’t love limelight? Some try to hog it for TRPs (Rakhi Sawant could be a possible universal choice in this case) and some do it because they are obsessed (I know one example for this as well but I want to be politically correct too). But, Harbhajan Singh and Aussies don’t fall in either of the categories. Probably, they are just used to it by now. Media adore them together, almost like Abhi-Ash pair. So even if they genuinely behave cordial with each other - its hurts us bad (pun intended).

But Australian cricket has a stronger reason to get upset about because when it comes to statistics, Harbhajan Singh fairs quite well in that department. He owns a neat economy rate of 4.65 overall and a 4.73 is what he has on Indian soil against the reigning No 1 ODI team.

Well, Harbhajan too has some Australian woes. In career span of 11 years, the offie has been able to take only 24 Oz wickets in comparison to his figures of 49 and 35 against Sri Lanka and England respectively.

Both the teams have just met once this year in the elite Champions Trophy at South Africa. The Group A match, which was abandoned due to rain and produced no result, saw a rusty Harbhajan bowling 9 overs and giving away 54 runs – definitely not a reason to smile for Team India.

So, virtually it would be the first time both the teams take on each other this year wherein, not just spectators, but critics too will get a reason to cheer when Bhajji and Aussies get each other going. Hayden and Symmo would surely be missed this time but they could always get their expert comments pouring in sitting in front of the television sets. Let the party begin.

now that man with white lip stick is missing, i understand that bhajji has lost the X factor for taking everybody in its stride. Moreover, Tendulkar is not staying long at the crease to support bhajji. So I hope a new avtar will emerge in this series.

The Rainas,Kohlis, are only as good as the rest of the team performs on a paricular day.Hardly do i remember that they have single handedly ,in the face of odds carried the team to victory or out of the woods. If the team gets going they shine and if the rest are falling apart then never would we feel secure with these kind of players.

Sachin won the Match, but the team lost the match for him.... sad to see such a great knock go in vain.
