Wary of playing Indian Premier League matches in Ahmedabad, Paul Collingwood and Owais Shah have sought feedback from Delhi Daredevils, their IPL team, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on whether the city is safe enough for the Twenty20 matches.

Ahmedabad was proposed as a venue in the revised IPL schedule which is awaiting the Home Ministry's nod and Collingwood and Shah are in two minds about playing in the city England shunned last year following the Mumbai attacks.

After November's terror strikes in Mumbai, ECB deemed Ahmedabad unsafe for the India-England Test which was eventually shifted to Chennai.

According to 'The Guardian', Collingwood and Shah are naturally in two minds about playing in the Gujarat city. "Lines of communication are open and we have been seeking to make a contribution on all aspects of security," Sean Morris, chief executive of the Professional Cricketers Association, was quoted as saying.

"It is true England had no wish to play in Ahmedabad after the Mumbai bombings but security issues are forever developing and it is our task to keep abreast of all new information and consider our assessment of it," he said.

Apart from them, Andrew Flintoff (Chennai Super Kings), Kevin Pietersen (Bangalore Royal Challengers) and Ravi Bopara (Kings XI Punjab) are also expected to feature in the second edition of the IPL.
