Dada today I deeply felt sad, I spent my youth seeing you five bringing glory to india under your proud captaincy and today I felt that I am also getting older. I am proud to born in an era of yours where we do not mind giving it back to those who thinks we are inferior. I am sure you never minded this western press and their cricketer who think they only has the right to call a spade is a spade and when you did that they moaned. I also feel sorry for those Indians who always criticized you because they dont have in them the guts to admire you. Best of luck to you and your family. Indian future players will always thank you for breaking the regionalism.

A symbol of leadership In our work around the world, we are fortunate to observe some important and distinct patterns of leadership. Utilizing passion, successful leaders model the important role they're meant to play in the world and in their work. Through their passions, these leaders impact their workforce in a way that delivers both results and individual fulfillment. This is about more than skills and competencies. Passions, which are the deep internal drivers of behavior that distinguish good leaders from great ones. Sourav Ganguly was a leader to ignite passion in others, passionate himself -- the true definition of charismatic leader. His leadership was the hallmark of his career, he taught the indian cricketers, it is not about winning, but about fighting, he gave our country the Yuvraj, Sehwag, Dhoni and the Harbhajans. Dear friends, we have to wait a while to get someone like this in Indian cricket, who could ignite passions in the heart. lets dedicate our feelings to this great leader of cricket Once a tiger, always a tiger, Best, Sankha

Sourav,You are grit and determination personified! You have made the men in blue what they are today. If I may say you turned our boys into real men. You are a role model for not only budding cricketers but to the youth of the nation, because they now know how to question mindless conventions. Conventions imbibed in us which for generations stopped us form questioning the "wrong".In the process, you were at the recieving end of the"wrong", and you also vanquished the "wrong". Your weapons were your grit, determination and your talent.Thank you for making us believe in ourselves. You have shown how to overcome the worst to get the best. Trust me, and I say this on behalf on all the Indians, WE ADMIRE YOU!! and yes all your critics, deep down admire you even more.

Your various actions might have landed you in controversy, but it was the need of the hour to teach the colonial minded English and the Aussies that we are here to rub shoulders with them and not gentlemen always. You have retired in your own style, making the whole world turn at you and the victory at Nagpur is a true departing gift to you by the buddies, whom you nurtured.  It is hard to say one great moment of Sourav Ganguly golden cricket career. He has always proved the critics wrong. Everytime he did so, has become greatest in it,s own way. Whether it is proving the critics wrong in his first test by scoring a century or in one of his comeback series against Srilanka where he was awarded the man of the series award. There are many ways of remembering Ganguly. As the best Indian lefthander, or the most successful captain, as the most crticised fab 4. But to me he will be always the greatest comeback king. You throw him out and he will comeup proving everybody wrong. Indeed a true soldier-indeed Maharaj

   PRABHAT MISHRA

You are the one who has brought respect for Indian Cricket. You are the one who has single-handedly uprooted provincialism from Indian Cricket. You are the one, who has taught the younger generation how to fight back within extreme adversities. You are the one who has proved your critics wrong time and again by your performance only. You are the one, who has dared to be a BAD BOY of Indian Cricket, but have won the hearts of millions of Indian Cricket lovers. Maharaja tomare selam!

I wish DADA for his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket. We will miss The king of off side. He is the best ever captain india has ever produced. He groomed indian cricket when it was rotten by betting woes. None can doubt he brought aggression into this indian team which we lacked(Actually we were never aggressive) always. None can take away your credit DADA. We wish you gud luck and luv u so much

Hi Ganguly, All the best for your future. We know that its very tough time to retire from Cricket. But we need to live with it. We are hoping you to come back as a coach soon.

   Ramesh

Mr. Ganguly I will not belittle you by counting your acheivements - there were many - i will also not re-count your records - to showcase my memory - but i would like to tell you a simple THANK YOU - because you made me watch cricket - you were the reason why i bunked classes and stayed home to get some thrill - some entertainment - some adrenelin rush - those small fights with friends on who will win the match - you were one of the reasons (among a few like sachin) which made watching cricket worthwhile. Thankyou once again.

   Nitesh Jain

DADA IS GENIUS AND HE GIVES A LOTS OF CONTRIBUTION TO INDIAN CRICKET FROM HIS STARTING TO TILL THE DATE. THE OPOSITER HAVE NO ITDEA TO WHATS THE INDIAN CRICKET LOSS AFTER DADA'S RETIREMENT. HE COME OUT OUR TEAM FROM CRUCIAL SITUATION BY GIVEING HIGHEST CONTRIBUTION BY RUN, BOWLING , FIELDING AND CAPTANCY. FOR PUT THE "LAFA" ON OPOSITER I WRITE AS UNDER. S = SUCCESS O = OUTSPOKEN U = UNIQUE R = RESPONSIBILITY A = AGGRESSION V = VICTORY HITEN

   Hiten Shah

Like we remeber early 1990s and Manmohan Singh for changing the direction of India and Indian Economy ... We will always remember Dada as the one who changed the direction of Indian cricket .. from a team that was happy to get what ever was given ... to a team that fought and took everything that was rightfully its .. the strong and the aggresive team that we see today is the brainchild and gift of dada to Indian Cricket .. Loads of respect and admiration.

With tears in my eyes, I bid farewell to the most successful captain of Indian Cricket Team who was a flamboyant left-hand batsman and a treat to watch playing. The man among children who taught India self-respect, lion-heartedness and changed a team who always used to travel to Australia to lose. He alone changed the body language of the team with a superb century of 141 at Brisbane in 2003 which changed the mindset of the team, perhaps forever. We salute you Dada because not only you were a great player and captain, because we are indebted to you for your gift to Indian cricket, the never say die attitude, the killer instinct and the self-belief.

   Debajyoti Bhattacharjee

The most promising and appealing attribute of yours is your strength in facing rivals. I think I can cite your example to my kids to teach them perseverance. The way you came back into cricket after the whole media and cricketing world had outcast you is really marvellous. Thanks for the proud moments you have given to India.

   Sanjiv Singh

Are Dhoni and his boys the new leaders of world cricket? By beating the Aussies in the four-Test series, India has proved that it is now the world's best team.
