The three-time winners are a real powerhouse, with the IPL warming up several of their players. The Lankans have reached an amazing seven consecutive finals in the Asia Cup. Except for the first edition in 1984, which was decided on points, there has never been a final without Sri Lanka.
With that record, it might seem Mahela Jayawardene already has one hand on the trophy. The absence of Ferveez Maharoof and Lasith Malinga takes some sheen off their attack but given their blend of youth and experience, they are formidable by most means. |
